Advanced Systems Group, Ross Video Team Up for Real-Time Graphics Creation in ASG’s Virtual Production Control Room

Advanced Systems Group (ASG) has partnered with Ross Video to provide real-time motion graphics for ASG’s new Virtual Production Control Room (VPCR). Ross Video’s XPression real-time motion graphics generation system integrates seamlessly within the VPCR remote production service.

With the XPression graphics platform, users can produce real-time motion graphics content that integrates into all workflows and supports dynamic live production, such as Augmented Reality and Virtual Studios, news, sports, entertainment, house of worship and corporate events. XPression uses intelligent caching for instantaneous access to content that prevents lag between keyboard entry and system operation. XPression software handles all video signals and is resolution independent. Multiple configurations of XPression are available for all types of applications.

“ASG are trailblazers when it comes to working in the cloud,” says Patrick Twomey, Ross Video’s Director of Graphics Product Management. “Our XPression team is proud to be working with everyone at ASG to guide customers into the VPCR workflows they require in today’s distributed world.”

Powered by Google Cloud or AWS, the VPCR remote production service allows real-time, broadcast-quality coverage of live events and other programming. It requires no on-prem services to deliver secure, cost-effective content complete with video switching, effects, multi-channel audio, graphics, and captions. The system also supports major videoconferencing applications with multiple live participants.

“The versatility and operator design of XPression sets it apart for powerful real-time motion graphics,” adds Dave Van Hoy, President, ASG. “The user interface is logical and clean with controls that are based on creation tools designers use every day. The rendering speed and frame accuracy XPression provides, combined with its simple UI, will have VPCR users creating the most compelling visuals right out of the box. We’re proud to include XPression within our VPCR platform.”

In contrast to all-in-one solutions, the VPCR was developed around a best-in-breed, multi-vendor solution to deliver a powerful and versatile virtual control room. The VPCR ecosystem includes more than two dozen companies, with multiple vendor options in virtually every signal position in the control room.

VPCR is available in three different subscription models, with optional engineering services or fully managed production services.
