Indonesia’s TVRI Continues Relationship With ATEME

TVRI, a state-owned national broadcaster and the country’s largest television network, has chosen to implement ATEME’s TITAN Edge contribution solution, further strengthening Ateme’s presence in Indonesia.
ATEME’s TITAN Edge encoders and decoders provide two-way contribution between TVRI’s Jakarta headquarters and 28 provinces across Indonesia. This has allowed TVRI to upgrade its system and transport video between locations, such as remote studios, thereby enabling remote production.

TITAN Edge is a futureproof, software-based contribution encoder and decoder solution. This offers TVRI a number of benefits including being able to upgrade to ATEME’s next-generation contribution codecs, as well as using less rack space and power, making the transport of video more cost- and energy-efficient, and more environmentally friendly.
“TITAN Edge will allow us to save rack space and energy and improve our green credentials, while continuing to provide a high-quality experience to viewers across Indonesia,” says Ricky Plamonia, Technical Lead of IT & New Media, TVRI.
The deployment of TITAN Edge builds on the existing relationship between ATEME and TVRI, with the two companies having worked together previously on DVB-T2 projects, and cements ATEME as the contribution market leader in Indonesia.
“We initially began working with TVRI on a small project a few years ago and now we are providing contribution for 28 provinces across Indonesia,” says Sean Tan, Head of Sales SEA, ATEME. “The market is moving fast, and broadcasters need to keep up with that as well as with changing viewer expectations. Our TITAN Edge encoders have enabled TVRI to upgrade and futureproof its platform in order to keep pace and meet new demands.”
As ATEME continues to expand its presence in the region, it has also opened a new office in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, to ensure TVRI and others in the region are able to access local support and expertise.
