SVG College Summit 2022: University of North Carolina’s Ken Cleary Returns as Event Chairman

GoHeels Productions lead to help guide the agenda for upcoming in-person June event

Ken Cleary, Associate Athletic Director/Emerging Media for the University of North Carolina Athletic Department will serve as chairman of the 2022 SVG College Summit, to be held at the Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center on June 13-14.

As chairman, Cleary will play a critical role in shaping the themes and topics of content within the event’s agenda.

Cleary had previously served as the chairman for the 2020 edition of the SVG College Summit that was eventually shifted to a virtual format following the COVID-19 outbreak.

As the lead for the University of North Carolina’s GoHeels Productions and its Creative Services unit, Cleary, heads up a team that is responsible for all of the athletic department’s ACC Network and live-broadcast activities as well as in-venue productions for 16 sports in eight venues on the Chapel Hill campus. Additionally, the Creative Services unit provides video production, graphics production, and social-media support to the Athletic Department and its 28 teams.

Cleary helped manage the design and construction of the $15 million Carolina Athletics Media and Communications Center which opened in August of 2019. When Cleary joined UNC in 2001, he began his video-production career managing installation and operation of a single videoboard in Kenan Football Stadium in 2003.

Prior to working in college athletics, he spent a decade in retail sports marketing and advertising and sports-marketing consulting and dabbled a bit in sports radio. Cleary is a 1991 graduate of the Hussman School of Journalism and Media at the University of North Carolina.
