Mobile TV Group Names Dale Canino as Vice President of Technology

Mobile TV Group has appointed long-time MTVG technology leader Dale Canino to Vice President of Technology, a first in the company’s 29-year history.

Founded in 1993, Denver-based MTVG launched its first mobile unit for the Denver Nuggets. Today, MTVG has built over 50 custom units nationwide and leads live TV broadcast technology and innovation for over 4,000 national events each year through the deployment of fully in-house designed and built mobile units.

Canino has nearly 20 years of engineering and operational experience in mobile broadcast production and integration, 16 years of which have been serving MTVG customers, most recently as director of technology. The appointment comes as MTVG looks to advance its technology roadmap and offer more decentralized technology and remote solutions.

“As a technology company, it’s imperative that we stay ahead of the innovations that are driving industry change,” says Philip Garvin, CEO of Mobile TV Group. “Dale has a proven track record helping Mobile TV Group bring customers the critical infrastructure they need to continue providing high-quality live broadcasts in an ever-changing world.”

Canino, responsible for the development of Mobile TV Group’s Cloud Control™ solution, now oversees all technology functions at Mobile TV Group and is responsible for the development, growth and implementation of the company’s technology roadmap.

Mobile TV Group introduced its Cloud Control live-game-production system in 2020, a groundbreaking remote production workflow that enables production personnel normally in the mobile unit to work at their network offices. Cloud Control unlocks ultra low latency remote control without sacrificing quality to produce events with unlimited feeds and replay (30+ cameras, Super Slo-mo, 4K) and the control room can be assembled in a day.

“My number one goal is to continue driving the innovation and collaboration that helps Mobile TV Group lead the broadcast technology industry, and deliver the absolute best service to our customers,” says Canino. “Creating this new role signals to our staff and customers that we are committed to providing innovations that lead the industry and solve tomorrow’s data challenges.”

Prior to his role as VP of technology, Canino started and ran Mobile TV Group’s engineer training program and served as general tech support.
