Virtual Production Experts Join Silicon Valley Video, April 7

Virtual Production or ICVFX (In-Camera VFX) is the latest thing in Hollywood. But the use of LED walls/volumes pushes the boundaries of what is possible in any production. SVG’s Silicon Valley Video Initiative will be providing a forum for experts who will provide how-to pointers about this brave new production technology, at 8 p.m. Eastern/5 p.m. Pacific on April 7 (virtual).

Erik Weaver is an Emmy-nominated leader with a background in delivering next-generation solutions, creating high-performing teams, and crafting strategies for long-term business success. He is currently the Head of Virtual and Adaptive Production at the Entertainment Technology Center at USC.

Jay Spriggs is a technologist who has designed and implemented some of the earliest and most advanced virtual production stages. A thought leader in a variety of production disciplines, he creates comprehensive and sustainable technology solutions for clients like XR Stage, Sweetwater, Monolith, Intrepid Studios, PRG, Weta, ETC@USC, Salesforce, Beyoncé, John Legend, and more.

A.J. Wedding is the co-founder of Orbital Studios, a virtual production studio Los Angeles offering the latest in virtual production technology and solutions. He is currently the Virtual Production Supervisor for the FX series “Snowfall,” and produces the industry-focused podcast “The Callsheet.”
