MLS’s Los Angeles Football Club Debuts New Audio-based In-Venue Fan Experience With Mixhalo

Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) has debuted a new fan experience activation to its Banc of California Stadium, providing an immersive way for attendees to experience live audio at matches.

Working with wireless networking technology Mixhalo, LAFC gives fans access to live, real-time, play-by-play in English and Spanish, offering the same intimate experience of listening to live commentary at home while seeing the action live at the stadium. In the coming months, additional exclusive audio content will become available for LAFC fans.

As the first-ever MLS team to adopt the technology, LAFC first announced its collaboration with Mixhalo in December 2020 during a time when live sports weren’t in action. With eager fans now back at stadiums in full capacity, Mixhalo has launched at Banc of California Stadium and will be available at every LAFC home game through the remainder of the 2022 season.

“The Mixhalo experience at Banc of California Stadium is ready for prime time, and we couldn’t be more excited,” said John Vars, CEO of Mixhalo. “LAFC has been a terrific partner who’s always looking to elevate the fan experience with a tech-forward approach. Together, we’re pumped to bring Mixhalo to soccer fans for the first time ever.”

At a Mixhalo-powered sporting event, attendees use their phone, headphones and a free mobile app to unlock intimate, personalized, never-before-possible fan experiences.

“Mixhalo presents our fans with meaningful innovation at Banc of California Stadium,” said Christian Lau, CTO of LAFC. “We’re proud to be the first MLS team to debut the technology and can’t wait to show everyone the magic of Mixhalo.”

Mixhalo continues to gain strong momentum in the sports and music worlds. The technology has been adopted by top major league sports teams including the Buffalo Sabres (NHL) and the Sacramento Kings (NBA), in addition to Las Vegas’ famed Caesars Palace for Sting’s “My Songs” residency, Denver’s renowned Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and Detroit’s DTE Energy Music Theatre.

How Mixhalo Works

Mixhalo’s no-latency, network-based technology delivers pristine, high-quality audio and other data in real time to attendees at sporting events, concerts, conferences, and any other live event where people gather to consume content.

As a result, every seat has access to better, more immersive audio, transforming the live event experience. Applications for the platform are extensive, and include: Concerts and Festivals; Conferences and Trade Shows; E-sports and Sporting Events; Interpretation Services; Museums, Megachurches and more.
