Devlin Design Group Wins ‘Set of the Year’ Award for Riot Games LCS Showdown

Devlin Design Group captured the top honor, ‘Set of the Year’ in the Streaming Set Design category, for Riot Games LCS Showdown, announced at this year’s NewscastStudio Broadcast Production Awards. The NCS competition, which honors the best in creative and technical achievement across news, sports, esports and entertainment, received nearly 300 entries from around the globe.

The set design was finalized, built and installed in the Riot Games Los Angeles studio during the height of pandemic restrictions. Despite the challenges, the new LCS Showdown scenic environment raised the bar for the largest esports league in the world’s most watched esport, League of Legends, and the judges noticed.

Multiple honors were bestowed on Devlin Design Group in other NCS Set Design categories. The team received an Honorable Mention in the Sports Set category for their striking design for the Tennis Channel. In the News Set category, WAPT was acknowledged for its technology driven set which visually honors the richly historical southern roots of the Jackson, Mississippi area.

Team DDG adds to their growing list of NCS accolades they have racked up over ten years. Last year, DDG was awarded the trophy in the Webcast Set Design category for their scenic environment for the esports and gaming lifestyle network, VENN.
