SVG PLAY: CBS Sports Pulls Back the Creative Curtain on Its Portfolio-Wide Graphics Rebrand
An in-depth look at the network's graphics package that was launched at Super Bowl LV
Story Highlights
Hosted at the Helen Mills Theater in New York City on May 24, the SVG Sports Graphics Forum brought together creative and technological leaders behind marquee sports broadcasts for a day of networking, information exchange, and idea sharing all around the rapidly-changing world of live sports graphics.
Completely overhauling the graphical identity of a brand as big as CBS Sports can be quite the undertaking. In 2021, the team at CBS did just that, rebranding their entire graphics package across their entire portfolio of sports properties, launching the new look during the network’s coverage of Super Bowl LV.
At the 2022 SVG Sports Graphics Forum, CBS Sports’ VP, On-Air Graphics and Design JP LoMonaco and Senior Art Director Komal Bhukhanwala shared the stage with Two Fresh Creative Owner and Creative Director Phil Guthrie to offer an in-depth look at the creative process, the obstacles overcome along the way, and even the logos that didn’t make the cut.
