LPGA Embraces WSC Stories to Connect with New Fans

The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) has expanded its partnership with WSC Sports to deliver a new fan viewing experience in WSC Stories. “The LPGA Tour is always looking for innovative ways to increase fan engagement and build excitement within our fanbase,” says Brian Carroll, LPGA, Executive VP, Global Media Distribution and Partnerships. “WSC Stories leverages the power of Google Search to connect new fans to the excitement of women’s golf, and provide more ways for them to discover, access and consume real-time highlights.”

With WSC Stories, the LPGA Tour is transforming the way its tournaments are covered online by offering a new way for fans to consume golf content. Powered by WSC Sports’ AI machine learning platform, WSC Stories automatically creates vertical video highlights of LPGA tournaments and publishes them in the OneBox at the top of the Google Search results page, making LPGA content more discoverable and accessible than ever before. Fans searching for LPGA news and updates will now have instant access to tournament highlights in real time, without needing to navigate away from Google.

In addition to offering fans an innovative new viewing experience, WSC Stories also include call-to-action options that the LPGA Tour can use to direct fans to watch the tournament live, or navigate them to their other digital properties.

LPGA has been working with WSC Sports since 2020, utilizing the AI highlights platform to generate and distribute video at scale and speed. The organization first implemented WSC Stories in October 2022 during the LPGA MEDIHEAL Championship and the Pelican Women’s Championship presented by Konica Minolta and Raymond James earlier this month. Stories will also be used during the CME Group Tour Championship from November 17-20.
