Let’s Talk Addiction Podcast: How To Keep Kids Healthy; SVG 12-Step Zoom Meeting Tomorrow at 10 a.m. ET

Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation’s latest podcast takes a look at how parents and children can better communicate in an age when prevention is very different from “Just Say No.” Today, the conversation is nuanced and fact-based, and the methodologies are backed by data. Kids are given the information and trusted to make the healthy decision. How else has prevention evolved? How do we empower kids to make the healthy choice?

The latest podcast from HBF’s Deidre Flynn zeros in on conversations with children concerning substance use and addiction.

Click here to tune in for this fascinating conversation between Deirdre Flynn, manager, prevention solutions, Hazelden Betty Ford, and host William C. Moyers.

“We focus on those negative consequences that begin to happen often when adolescents first use substances,” says Flynn of HBF’s efforts. “If we can focus on those early negative consequences, we prevent the later negative consequences, including addiction and sometimes up to and including overdose or other untimely death.”
