Cramton Bowl Refreshes Game-Day Experience with Daktronics Technology

The Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Alabama, has refreshed its game-day experience with a video display, fixed-digit scoreboards and Show Control System installation from Daktronics. The installation took place over the 2024 summer months and the technology is in place to inform and entertain fans.

“We have enhanced our game-day experience with the addition of our new technology from Daktronics,” says City of Montgomery Director of Parks and Recreation Brandon Dean. “It’s a great, great modernization of the Cramton Bowl experience for our fans and spectators in Montgomery.”

The new video board replaces the previously-existing Daktronics display at the same dimensions ensuring existing digital content is already formatted to fit the display. The display measures approximately 21.5 feet high by 38.5 feet wide and features a 15HD pixel layout to deliver excellent image clarity with wide-angle visibility. It also features industry-leading environmental protection to ensure it operates as expected in the outdoor elements.

“Daktronics is proud to continue our partnership with the City of Montgomery and the Cramton Bowl,” says Glen Marts, Daktronics sales representative. “These display and control system upgrades will entertain fans attending this year’s FCS Kickoff game along with all the numerous other events hosted by this historic facility for many years to come.”

Surrounding the video display, new fixed-digit scoreboards were installed to ensure every fan can stay up-to-date with the action on the field. This includes the critical game information such as time remaining, score, down and distance, and more.

The installation includes the latest version of Daktronics Show Control, an industry-leading control system providing a combination of display control software, world-class video processing, data integration and playback hardware that forms a powerful yet user-friendly production solution.

“These latest upgrades will definitely add to the game-day experience at Cramton Bowl,” says Dean. “We are thankful to City of Montgomery Mayor Steven L. Reed and the City Council for supporting these efforts.”
