SVG Summit 2024: Day 1 Afternoon Workshops Include More Live Production, Cloud Production, Audio Production/Distribution, and SPORTEL Talks

Day one of The SVG Summit this year will feature a wide range of workshops on day one – Monday, Dec. 16. Afternoon workshops will address Live Production, Cloud Production, Audio Production and Distribution, and brand new workshop from our friends at SPORTEL. And then don’t miss the Opening Night Reception in the Exhibits Area that evening!

For those looking to dive into the latest developments in live sports production the Live Production Workshop will definitely be worth a visit as it will begin with a one-hour discussion featuring leading vendors and broadcasters about the current state of IP and, more specifically, ST-2110 and the work that still needs to occur to make IP networks easier to transition to, operate, and maintain.

Sports broadcasting is no longer a one-way street. Today, live sports video experiences thrive by combining interactivity, gamification, personalized data, and a touch of social engagement, creating dynamic and immersive viewing that captivates audiences. But what innovative technologies and creative strategies are shaping these engaging, real-time experiences and keeping fans glued to live sports? At this year’s Digital Engagement Workshop, industry leaders will explore the latest trends and exciting opportunities driving the future of next-gen sports delivery.

As more media organizations look to virtualize infrastructure and enhance remote-production workflows, the role of the cloud has never been more integral to creating compelling sports content. The Cloud Production Workshop will provide an overview of the primary technological and operational considerations when shifting to the cloud, as well as an inside look at the innovative cloud-based workflows being used by sports-media organizations today.

Direct-to-consumer distribution of sports television is rapidly displacing legacy linear broadcasting. The implications of this shift for audio are significant. On the distribution side, streaming removes the constraints of terrestrial television systems and smooths the path to next-generation services for enhanced personalization, accessibility, and immersive formats. In production, streaming translates to more hours of coverage, requiring new efficiencies, like centralized hubbing, and distributed virtual production to cost-effectively provide many concurrent enhanced experiences for multiple streams at the same time. Join us at the Audio Production and Distribution Workshop for an examination of how some of our members are innovating to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving sports television audio landscape.
