A Different Direction: Norby Williamson on a New Production Era for FanDuel Sports Network
Williamson was the keynote speaker at the 2025 SVG Regional Sports Production Summit last month
Story Highlights
The regional sports network business is a dynamic space these days. Earlier this year, the nation’s biggest cluster of RSNs – FanDuel Sports Network – underwent its latest evolution after Diamond Sports Group successfully exited from Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Rebranded as Main Street Sports Group, the organization made major changes to its executive personnel – most notably bring on longtime ESPN executive Norby Williamson as President of Production and Programming. Since then, Williamson has restructured the company and the leadership of its 15 RSNs across the country.
How’s it all gone so far and what’s to come for a company that produces more than 3,000 live MLB, NBA, NHL games per year? Williamson sat down for an in-depth talk with SVG about the state of the company and the industry at large.
Moderated by SVG Executive Director, Editorial Services, Ken Kerschbaumer, the session was hosted at the 2025 SVG Regional Sports Production Summit in Chicago on June 24.
