Minute Media Acquires Magnifi Owner VideoVerse in AI Shakeup

Global tech and sports content company Minute Media announced the acquisition of VideoVerse on Tuesday morning. VideoVerse’s top sports media-focused product is Magnify, an AI-driven SaaS platform that quickly identifies and clips video highlights for shortform distribution.
“We are thrilled to bring the passionate teams and robust capabilities of VideoVerse into the Minute Media family to bring teams and leagues a full-stack solution from creation to distribution to monetization,” Asaf Peled, Founder and CEO of Minute Media said in the company release announcing the acquisition. “In addition, with VideoVerse’s technologies, Minute Media’s owned & operated brands, partners, and clients will experience and have the very best in AI-powered creation,”
According to the official announcement, Minute Media plans to “deploy a fully integrated creation, distribution, and monetization solution, furthering its strategic partnerships with top teams, leagues, and federations around the world.”
Current Magnifi customers are expected to able to also take advantage of Minute Media’s distribution and monetization solutions for their video assets. Using AI, Magnifi uses computer vision, natural language processing, and machine learning to analyze visual and audio cues, identify highlights, and quickly clip video content for digital distribution to social media platforms, mobile applications, websites, and more. The product integrates GenAI features, including multilingual subtitling, automatic thumbnail generation, metadata generation, as well as a dynamic rules-based engine to automate end-to-end processing.

Minute Media’s technology currently powers the STN Video platform, which is utilized by some leagues and publishing partners, as well as sports media brands like Sports Illustrated and The Players’ Tribune.
