The amount of data that businesses are collecting is growing exponentially, and most of it remains easily accessible across the organization. In fact, as of 2019, 31 percent of businesses in a 2019 study* state that their organization had over 100 terabytes data that required protection, 20 percent more compared to 2016. Modern enterprises rely on data, whether it is financial, location-based or customer information, to maintain daily function, conduct analysis, and identify market trends. Not only is the amount of data rising, but it is also becoming an increasingly intrinsic part of the organizations operation. It is this reliance that makes corporate data a highly valuable asset for cybercriminals.
