Ross Video Grabs TV Techhnology's Product Innovation Award for Graphite PPC
Following a run of six awards for the Graphite PPC (Portable Production Center) since its launch in Spring 2020 – two at virtual Infocomm, two “Product of the Year’ awards at NAB Show 2020 and two as part of the IBC Showcase event – the product is also being honored with a ‘Product Innovation Award’ from TV Technology and it’s sister publication TVB Europe, taking the overall trophy tally to an incredible eight.
The annual Product Innovation Awards shine a spotlight on the latest industry products. Product Innovation Award winners are chosen by a panel of working professional engineers and managers in TV, pro video and radio. According to Future Publishing, the awards program “recognizes the sterling work of R&D and product development teams across the media and entertainment technology industry who despite the challenges of 2020 have continued to deliver innovative new products and solutions to market.”
The Graphite PPC is an integrated production solution that includes a real Carbonite switcher, real XPression graphics and an advanced audio engine, all built into a compact and portable chassis. It offers customers a remarkable amount of production horsepower – up to two MEs (and four MiniMEs), four DVEs, six frame syncs, four media stores and two MultiViewers. It’s capable of handling up to thirteen inputs and up to eight outputs, and also includes the same RAVE audio engine (with sample rate converters) and XPression graphics and clips package found in the larger Graphite solution. Graphite PPC is incredibly light – it weighs only 42 lbs / 19kg including its dedicated soft-shell carrying case equipped with a pull-out handle and wheels. It is also extremely quiet – ultra-quiet fan cooling means the system can easily be used in the same space as the talent with microphones.
