IBC 2017: Aperi to demo updates to live-production platform

Aperi will demonstrate the latest updates to its virtualized live production platform at IBC2017 as well as presenting a number of recently completed customer installs. At the show, the company will speak to visitors about the systems integration and regional partnerships put in place in the last 12 months while also announcing several new ones. Aperi’s presence on stand 2.C21 will highlight the company’s fast growth.

“Aperi has experienced significant growth since its market launch at the 2016 NAB Show as a startup. At this year’s IBC, we’re able to show the industry how, backed by media giants, we’ve implemented multiple significant nation-wide installs. The company is now operating with several leading broadcasters and service providers in the UK, mainland Europe, China, Australia, North and Latin America,” says Joop Jensen, Aperi’s CEO. “This quick recognition and adoption of Aperi’s innovative technology shows the shift that’s currently taking place in the live production industry. We’re increasingly moving away from the traditional, fixed hardware-centric ways of producing live programming and heading towards the implementation of agile software-based processes. Ultimately we’re able to create content for consumers at a fraction of the cost.”

At the show Aperi will be demonstrating the latest in virtualized media processing with its platform being used to easily spin up or down services. Aperi will present its second-generation Virtualization Stack which lets users benefit from a floating license model of app-based live production functionality. A number of these apps will be presented on stand 2.C21 including TICO-conforming 4K and HD compression, network address translation (NAT) and IP firewalls, a range of H.264 encoders and decoders and multiple media processing functions with integrated support of SMPTE 2110.

“The app developers in our partner community are key to deploying this new kind of virtualized media processing and can operate much faster than any one proprietary vendor ever could on its own. It won’t be long before production workflows built around app-based functionality like Aperi’s are the norm,” says Janssen. “Open, non-restrictive workflows are important to the future of live production and the Aperi platform forms the basis for this.”

Aperi will be exhibiting on stand 2.C21 at IBC2017 which runs between September 14-19 at the Amsterdam RAI.
