IBC 2017: Brainstorm to release Infinityset 3, Neuron, Smartset, and more

Brainstorm has made the finalists for the IABM Design and Innovation Awards at IBC for it’s combined render engine with Unreal  and was the dedicated real-time graphics solutions provider in the finalists this year. John Ive, IABM Director of Strategic Insight, chaired the judging panel. “The shortlisted 40 entries were all particularly strong with real innovation on show – all would have been worthy winners,” says Ive. Brainstorm also introduces its latest products at IBC 2017.

INFINITYSET 3 – Virtual & AR Enhanced Solutions
InfinitySet 3, a major new release of the software, comes with a number of key innovations, including advanced rendering features such as PBR and HDR and support for the Unreal Engine, which can be combined with the Brainstorm eStudio engine to create the best of both worlds; realistic gaming technology output with stunning data-driven broadcast-quality graphics and chroma-keyed talent with endless possibilities for production studios to dramatically raise their production value while lowering costs. This Combined Render Engine feature greatly simplifies the process more than any other solution on the market today as it does not require additional workstations or hardware such as studio mixers and can be easily integrated into any broadcaster’s existing installation.

Also, thanks to the patented TrackFree technology and its TeleTransporter feature, InfinitySet 3 can interchangeably use real, live input or pre-recorded footage as the background environment for the chroma-keyed talent while taking advantage of new features like VideoCAVE mixed reality applications and VideoGate.  InfinitySet 3 will be deliverable shortly after the show.

NEURON – Pathway to Broadcast Graphics Management
Premiered at IBC 2017, Neuron is a new integrated, MOS-compatible template-based system that allows for complex graphics integration not only in the newsroom, but also in most of the common broadcast workflows, enhancing the newsroom with the support of continuity and broadcast traffic as well. Neuron builds on the experience gained with BrainNews, which was the company’s news graphics management application, and now transcends the newsroom to become a sophisticated on-air graphics control system that enables the integration of Brainstorm’s powerful real-time high-quality 3D graphics engine into the broadcast workflow without the need for continuous input from designers.

VISUALMEDIA – Real-time Social Media Graphics
VisualMedia, a joint solution to provide real-time 3D graphics visualization based on social media feeds and second screen data created by Brainstorm, never allows for real-time representation of structured social media information by means of data-driven 3D motion graphics. VisualMedia is one of the results of both companies’ partnership in ‘Project VisualMedia’ developed from the Europe 2020 Horizon platform and is being shown in its final configuration at IBC, prior to its commercial release in January 2018.

SMARTSET – Template Based Virtual Set Solution
At IBC 2017 Brainstorm releases SmartSet, a cost-effective and easy to use template-based Virtual Set and Augmented Reality solution designed for small and local TV stations without the need to create the sets themselves, while still providing customized branding in a real-time 3D environment.
