Live From NAB 2017: Sony’s Deon LeCointe on the Tech Giant’s Moves in HDR and IP

At its press conference at NAB 2017 on Sunday, Sony unveiled a series on major announcements aimed at tackling the rapidly changing world of live sports-video production.

The company rolled out numerous advances in HDR (high dynamic range), including Instant HDR, SR Live for HDR, and the HDRC-4000.

In addition, Sony highlighted its IP end-to-end capabilities, as well as its compatibility with industry standards SMPTE ST2110, ST2059, and NMOS IS-04.

Deon LeCointe, senior manager, IP production technology and sports solutions, Sony Electronics, caught up with SVG’s Jason Dachman to talk about the latest from the show floor in Las Vegas.
