NAB 2017: PESA Hybrid IP/SDI Platform set to Debut

PESA has introduced Fusion, a hybrid IP/SDI Advanced Connectivity Platform (ACP) that supports SMPTE 2022-6, SMPTE 2110 (pending), and single port, uncompressed 4K/60 SDI. Fusion ACP will debut at the 2017 NAB Show  (SL4224). PESA will demonstrate Fusion ACP’s uncompressed 4K/60 capability through a 12 Gbps multi-viewer, as well as deliver 4K through its integrated IP gateway architected to support SMPTE 2110.

“Designed around a 25 Gbps core, the Fusion ACP’s IP gateway and 12 Gbps SDI interfaces provide dynamic connectivity and management for all major signal formats,” said Randy Lloyd, PESA vice president of sales. “Now our clients in all markets, from control rooms to command centers, can initiate their migration to IP without compromising their current need of supporting their existing SDI infrastructure.”

Designed for redundancy and easy upgrade, Fusion ACP provides for front loading of all major components, including input, output, matrix, and control cards. Connectivity to the frame is provided by single-channel blades available as fixed coax and SFP cages for IP, fiber, and coax. Available SFP I/O modules include HDMI converters, dual-channel 3G and 12G in coax and fiber, 2022-6, and CWDM.

Initially available in two frame sizes, 9 RU and 18 RU, Fusion ACP can be populated to 288×288 and 576×576, respectively. The matrix populates in groups of 16 channels of I/O with both 3 Gbps and 12 Gbps card types.

Fusion ACP’s 12G digital I/O cards offer 16 channels of input and output with auto-reclocking that conforms to SMPTE 259, 292, 372, 424, and 2082. Fusion ACP also supports DVB-ASI (270 Mbps) and MADI (125 Mbps) digital audio.
