NAB 2022: IHSE USA's KVM Solutions Take Home Three Best of Show Awards

IHSE USA’s Draco DPS 4X1 KVM Desktop Switch and Draco Ultra eSports Extenders with Synchronized Sequential Frame Rate Conversion (SSFRC) technology received Best of Show awards from Sound & Video Contractor magazine. The Draco DPS 4X1 KVM Desktop Switch was also recognized as a Best of Show winner by TV Tech magazine. Award winners for each publication were selected on-site by panels of expert judges from the AV and broadcast markets.

“As video standards continue to evolve, such as dual or quad head 4K resolutions, system integrators must match video hardware with the right type of switch or display management system. This complex task is especially difficult when multiple computers need to be accessed at the same workstation area that may be working across different platforms or networks. For users who need to monitor or manage several computers, the DPS 4X1 KVM provides an easy way to access them with a single mouse and keyboard,” says Dan Holland, marketing manager at IHSE USA. “For eSports venue design professionals, the Draco Ultra eSports extenders combine eSports and broadcast frame rate conversion with our exclusive SSFRC technology, allowing production teams to live stream at 60Hz without any interference to the players. We are proud to have both KVM solutions recognized with NAB Best of Show awards from Sound & Video Contractor and TV Tech.”

The IHSE Draco DPS 4X1 KVM Desktop Switch offers a wide range of features that makes them among the most flexible 4X1 KVM switches in the industry. The DPS41 can be customized to support single head, dual head, triple head, or quad head computer systems. Starting with a base DisplayPort four-input single-head package, they can support resolutions up to 4K60. Additionally, DPS41 can support audio, USB-HID, and USB 2.0 devices.

The Draco DPS 4X1 KVM Desktop Switch series works in tandem with other IHSE switch products, making it even more secure and flexible. With a typical desktop switch environment, the CPU devices (computer or laptop) normally reside at an access point or endpoint device at the workstation. Each device must connect directly to the physical input of the switch and the USB-HID keyboard, and a mouse manages the process of changing what computer is shown on the display. When a DPS KVM 4X1 is added to a larger KVM switch, each input port on the 4X1 becomes the access point for a larger number of sources connected at the KVM switch.

The SSFRC technology of IHSE’s Draco Ultra eSports Extenders constitutes a new generation of digital KVM signal extension using the innovative Lightweight Image (LICI) codec, developed in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits. This revolutionary coding technology ensures brilliant image quality at the highest video resolutions and frame rates with outstanding full color depth and 4:4:4 sampling. Unique to these extenders is the ability to define and set a specific frame rate output from 60Hz to 240Hz.

The main KVM extender card for the Ultra eSports series is offered in DisplayPort or HDMI. A transmitter unit connects to the computer while the receiver unit connects to the display, keyboard, and mouse. Transmission interconnection can be used for long-distance, point-to-point connections, or adapted to a KVM matrix to expand sharing capabilities across multiple sources. The main extender card is offered with either a single link port or redundant link ports that can separate the game station from the computer processor by up to 10Km. With a redundant link on the transmitter, two receivers can be connected simultaneously with one connected at full 240Hz and a secondary receiver set to 60Hz.
