NAB 2023: Chyron Recaps on This Years Show

Chyron announces that during the 2023 NAB Show, April 15-19 in Las Vegas, the company achieved key milestones across product innovation, delivery of customer-centric features and solutions, and leadership in cloud implementation for live production. The company announced its inaugural Chyron Designer of the Year award; introduced new features and capabilities across its product portfolio, including the Chyron LIVE cloud-native production platform.

“We never rest on our laurels,” says Mathieu Yerle, senior vice president of strategy at Chyron. “We have been innovators since day one, and we are confident that this was evident at this year’s NAB Show. Significant investment in product innovation makes Chyron a leader in cloud implementations and cloud-native software for live production.”

The full range of Chyron products for both news and sports is under constant development through the enhancement of user interfaces and ongoing addition of customer-requested features, as well as through cloud deployments that make the company’s familiar broadcast-grade graphics tools even more versatile and accessible. Among the examples at the 2023 NAB Show was Chyron LIVE, a field-proven platform that has evolved since its debut in 2022.

A great deal of the booth traffic was in response to Chyron LIVE — not only the continuous hands-on demonstrations of the cloud-native platform but also a case study presented live by Daniel Higgins, who used Chyron LIVE for production at Rochester University Sports Network. Booth visitors had the chance to try out the platform’s new Matchpad module, optimized to enable production of live soccer coverage, and to see the new Commentary and AI modules that further production workflows and drive ROI.

Duncan Foot of MOOV presented on MOOV’s transition to PRIME for key productions, and Chyron’s Mark Friedman and David Mayer detailed a fast-turn project with Madison Square Garden involving building PRIME graphics with data from multiple providers, in some cases within the same scene. Chyron Academy PRIME black belt Zack Millican was named Chyron Designer of the Year for his work using the platform to design original sports graphics packages.

“While our products are impressive and innovative, it is also important for customers to know that they are dealing with a company that is very stable and will be around in a year, 10 years, or even 50 years from now,” says Chyron CFO Mike Truex, referring to the fact that Chyron just completed its third year of double-digit revenue growth.

“There is no substitute for seeing our customers live and in person,” says Carol Bettencourt, vice president of marketing at Chyron. “And, by the numbers, it seems that they were eager to see us; our booth was very well-attended. All of us at Chyron are very grateful to NAB for another great year.”
