NAB 2023: Waves Demonstrates Cloud MX Dante Compatibility and Integration with GV AMPP Workflows

Waves Audio is demonstrating its Cloud MX audio mixer, which is now Dante-compatible through Audinate’s Dante Connect, at NAB 2023. In addition, Grass Valley is showcasing Cloud MX’s integration with its Agile Media Processing Platform (AMPP).

Cloud MX is a 100% cloud-based audio mixer, delivering pristine audio, high-precision mix control, and creative processing capabilities with Waves plug-in integration – in a scalable, broadcast-ready cloud workflow. It offers a broad range of industry-leading audio processing plug-ins, enabling broadcast engineers to integrate studio-quality audio processing directly in their cloud production workflows. Cloud MX remote operator control options include support for touchscreens plus tactile mixing with the Waves FIT Controller.

Dante Connect is a cloud-based solution that allows production teams to deploy Dante connectivity on cloud-based environments. The mixer is now fully Dante Connect-compatible, providing its audio mixing and processing abilities in Dante-based environments. Cloud MX’s new compatibility with Dante Connect allows broadcasters and media organisations to easily integrate the advanced audio processing and mixing capabilities of Waves Cloud MX with Dante Connect.

This new solution allows up to 256 channels of audio to be captured at remote locations and then mixed, processed and delivered from anywhere in the world. It is suitable for broadcasters seeking to reduce costs and complexity, allowing minimal equipment on site to send audio out for production.

“Waves is delighted to join Audinate in announcing compatibility,” said Noam Raz, Waves Live Division General Manager. “Following the successful Waves Cloud MX AWS FTR, and with the Cloud MX and Dante Connect proven interoperability, broadcast professionals can now benefit from a superior-sounding cloud-based mixer, with high-precision mix control – with superior uncompromising sound quality.”

“We’re pleased to collaborate with Waves in deploying this important new technology, putting new tools in the hands of broadcasters,” said Josh Rush, Chief Marketing Officer at Audinate. “Dante Connect works with professional production software like Waves Cloud MX to enable broadcasters to easily capture, mix and produce audio in remote locations.”

The GV Media Alliance is a group of media organizations dedicated to providing fully tested, integrated solutions that enable the industry to create innovative, high-performing media workflows running on-prem and in the cloud.

This new compatibility allows broadcasters and media organizations to easily integrate the advanced audio processing and mixing capabilities of Waves Cloud MX with AMPP by connecting both platforms in an NDI-based cloud environment.

“Waves is delighted to exhibit at NAB, the Waves Cloud MX Audio Mixer’s interoperability with Grass Valley AMPP,” added Raz. “The features provided through the cloud integration of both platforms, enables broadcast professionals to directly benefit from a superior-sounding cloud-based mixer, with finer control over your audio. Cloud MX enables a new level of audio fidelity, flexibility and control to your broadcast production—with superior uncompromising sound quality.”

“Creatives who use AMPP really appreciate the fact that they can get right to work with familiar workflows and user interfaces,” said Trevor Francis, Director of Indirect Product Strategy for Grass Valley. “Bringing Waves Cloud MX Audio Mixer into the AMPP ecosystem lets audio experts focus on their craft rather than the technology supporting it. That provides a positive outcome for everyone.”
