Akamai Microsite Illustrates Real-Time Rio Olympics Video-Traffic Data

This month’s Rio Olympics may be the most-watched online event in history thanks to improvements in Internet connectivity, ubiquity of connected devices and rising consumer demand and expectations for online video content. Working with more than 50 broadcasters worldwide to live stream the games, Akamai is sharing observations on data and trends around games-related video traffic globally via a dedicated microsite.

The microsite features near-real-time data illustrating Number of simultaneous viewers, Average video bitrate delivered, Maximum peak traffic, and a Regional viewing heat map. CLICK HERE to view the microsite.
