SVG SportsTech On Demand: Fingerworks Telestrators' Bryan McKoen Previews Latest Version of Its Telestration Software

In an effort to keep the broadcast-technology community informed this spring, throughout April, SVG is hosting a series of SportsTech On Demand video interviews with executives from the industry’s top technology vendors discussing their latest product releases and company news. Our Jason Dachman sat down with Bryan McKoen, president, Fingerworks Telestrators, about the company’s efforts.

FingerWorks Telestrators recently unveiled its new FingerWorks 6, the latest version of its proprietary Telestration software that is available as an upgrade to current users. FingerWorks 6 features an integrated social media interface that allows analysts to quickly and easily curate Twitter and Instagram content including a direct interface with Tagboard. Broadcasters have complete control over live, social media content and can browse and cue content to be used throughout the broadcast. FW 6 provides an easier to navigate user interface with enhanced drag and drop functionality, similar to standard mobile devices, along with more detailed tools and drawing options.

A new presenter mode features enhanced clip ingest and control feature includes frame accurate slow motion (forward and reverse). This replaces the popular ReVu version that has been extensively used in esports for the past four years as well as studio productions that utilize on-camera, large screen interfaces.

FingerWorks 6 has successfully implemented live Computer Vision field tracking, and player tracking technology. Field tracking attaches to the playing surface during camera movement allowing the live, on-air analyst to place tools under the athletes. Player tracking allows tools to be placed under, around, or above athletes while following them throughout the camera movement.
