The rising issue of security at sports-media organizations has rehashed of the age old conflict between Broadcast and IT departments. IT leaders must understand the real time and specific nature of broadcast systems and networks, especially with the industry’s migration from baseband routing to IP. And Broadcast leaders need to understand that their IT team has legitimate needs to manage information security risks in their broadcast environments, and the concept of maintaining a separate network isn’t going to be sufficient anymore. Meanwhile, broadcast vendor ecosystem needs to catch up and realize they are responsible for security issues on their equipment for the entire duty cycle of their equipment. Hear how this bevy of issues are being dealt with by industry leaders on both sides.
