2024 SVG Audio Symposium

September 24 @ 7:00 pm - September 25 @ 5:00 pm

Once again, SVG and DTVAG in conjunction with major sports broadcasters and our sponsors will host the 2024 SVG Audio Symposium at the Westin Detroit Metro Airport Hotel. This exclusive, invitation-only event brings together leading audio production mixers and technologists for a full day of learning and thought-inspiring discussions.

During our all-day session we will examine the radical changes impacting audio production for live sports and entertainment, and the implications of expanding direct-to-consumer HDR and 4K distribution and immersive 5.1.4 production.  Amongst other recent global events, we will review NBC’s Paris Olympics broadcast and the unprecedented scale of at-home immersive audio production and IP audio signal gathering.   We will also look beyond this-style of production-hubbing to examine how in-cloud virtualization is poised to enable “distributed production”, and we will discuss the considerations for audio and the possibilities for mixers literally working from home.

On the technology side, we will review the latest developments for AI-based autonomous and assisted mixing and the opportunities for sophisticated AI personalization and stream-by-stream quality control and error detection.  Back on the ground we’ll examine how leading broadcaster are expanding program audio and metadata flows in SMPTE ST2110 environments to accommodate modern audio needs.  Closer to the action we will check out the expanding offerings of DSP-enabled digital array and conventional microphones and their applications in live production.

There will be a welcoming reception at 7:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday, September 24th.
All day summit sessions will run on Wednesday, the 25th, followed by dinner that evening.
