The UK’s Mirror.co.uk<\/em> reports that a film student tried to take a home made camera into a cinema in order to make a 3D pirate copy of blockbuster space film Gravity, a court has heard.<\/p>\n

But Ciprian Florea was spotted by an eagle-eyed security guard at Cineworld and arrested, Birmingham Crown Court<\/a> was told.<\/p>\n

Florea, 28, of Hunters Road, Hockley, has denied making and possessing a 3D camera with intent to commit fraud.<\/p>\n

It is thought that this is the first case involving someone allegedly attempting to pirate a 3D film in this way, the Birmingham Mail reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sally Cairns, prosecuting, said: \u201cThis trial is about piracy, film piracy.<\/p>\n

\u201cSpecifically the illegal recording of films from cinema screens and then potentially distributing them, showing them, sharing them with others.<\/p>\n
