{"id":125120,"date":"2017-01-11T13:55:16","date_gmt":"2017-01-11T18:55:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dtvaudio.org\/?p=1345"},"modified":"2017-01-11T13:55:16","modified_gmt":"2017-01-11T18:55:16","slug":"la-la-land-rogue-one-hacksaw-ridge-among-cinema-audio-society-nominees-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sportsvideo.org\/2017\/01\/11\/la-la-land-rogue-one-hacksaw-ridge-among-cinema-audio-society-nominees-2\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018La La Land\u2019, \u2018Rogue One\u2019, \u2018Hacksaw Ridge\u2019 Among Cinema Audio Society Nominees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"related\" title=\"Related Article\"><em>Deadline.com<\/em> reports that the <a id=\"auto-tag_cinema-audio-society\" href=\"http:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/cinema-audio-society\/\" data-tag=\"cinema-audio-society\">Cinema Audio Society<\/a> has announced the nominees for the 53rd Annual <a id=\"auto-tag_cas-awards\" href=\"http:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/cas-awards\/\" data-tag=\"cas-awards\">CAS Awards<\/a> for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing for 2016 in seven categories.<\/p>\n<p>In the Motion Picture Live Action category, the nominees are <em>Doctor Strange, La La Land, Hacksaw Ridge, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story<\/em>, and <em>Sully.<\/em> Meanwhile, in the Animated category are<em> Finding Dory, Kubo and the Two Strings, Moana, The Secret Life of Pets<\/em> and <em>Zootopia.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On the TV side in the hourlong cateogory nominees are freshmen <em>Stranger Things<\/em> and Westworld facing off against<em> Better Call Saul, Game of Thrones<\/em> and <em>Mr. Robot.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are blessed this year with a rich portfolio of Cinema Audio art applied. As the creative contributions of sound mixing to modern filmmaking becomes more obvious to the world at large, these productions truly represent the talents of our community,\u201d said Mark Ulano, CAS President. \u201cWe are proud to congratulate all our well deserving nominees for their stellar work. We also have the good news of announcing for the first time nominations for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing for a Motion Picture Documentary.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Final balloting will open online Wednesday January 25th and ends Sunday, February 12th. The awards will be presented at a sealed envelope dinner on February 18th in the Bunker Hill Ballroom of the OMNI Los Angeles Hotel at California Plaza.
