<\/a>For UEFA Champions League fans, the 2018\/19 UEFA Champions League season brings significant changes in the competition format.\u00a0 More clubs will be able to qualify directly from their domestic leagues and UEFA will implement a new live window format in which matches will take place at\u00a012:55 p.m. ET and 3:00 p.m. ET\u00a0every Tuesday\u00a0and\u00a0Wednesday\u00a0during the group stage.\u00a0 The change allows ESPN to offer more live matches than ever before.<\/span><\/p>\nThe deal also includes rights to the UEFA Europa League. ESPN will carry 103 UEFA Europa League matches per season\u2014including 102 exclusive matches on Pay TV\u2014of the group stage, round of 16, round of 32, quarterfinals and semifinals.\u00a0 The final will be non-exclusive.<\/p>\n
ESPN\u2019s new agreement with UEFA kicks off\u00a0August 15<\/span>\u00a0in Tallinn, Estonia with the\u00a043rd\u00a0edition of the 2018 UEFA Super Cup.\u00a0 The UEFA Super Cup is contested by the reigning champions of the two main\u00a0European\u00a0club competitions, the\u00a0UEFA Champions League\u00a0and the\u00a0UEFA Europa League. Matches will be televised across all of ESPN\u2019s television networks including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3 and ESPN+ and stream live on ESPN Play, ESPN\u2019s broadband network available to fans via internet and mobile devices. Additionally, ESPN will offer extensive coverage including goals and highlights of each match, special reporting and analysis throughout the tournaments via the brand\u2019s regional digital platforms such as\u00a0ESPN.com\u00a0and the ESPN App. In addition, for the first time ever, ESPN will also distribute match highlights across its social media platforms.<\/p>\n In addition, ESPN will air highlight and magazine programs and pre- and post-match studio shows dedicated exclusively to the competitions.
