Long-time PSSI Broadcast/Mechanical Engineer Paul Blomstrom Dead at 44

Paul Michael Blomstrom, broadcast/mechanical engineer, PSSI, died this week in Las Vegas at the age of 44. The cause was a sudden infection and illness. He is survived by his wife, Bridgette; children Pierce and Reese, hisparents Joe and Lori, and brothers Brian and Blake (Lindsay).

Paul Blomstrom had been a broadcast engineer for PSSI Global Services since 2006.

Blomstrom was born in Winner, SD, in 1980. Before he was a year old, his family relocated to Rapid City, SD. He graduated from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology with a BS in mechanical engineering in 2003 and began his career in broadcast engineering with PSSI Global Services in 2006.

“Paul was one of the finest individuals most of us have ever met,” says Rob Lamb, PSSI co-founder, president, and COO. “He filled roles as both in the field operating satellite/production trucks and in the shop wiring brand new systems and fixing old ones too. He was much loved by all his colleagues, clients and pretty much everyone who knew him. His work was impeccable, and he never complained, at least not without an endearing chuckle! We are so going to miss him, as is our industry. Somewhere in heaven he will be making and transmitting some fine television.”

A funeral service will be held July 26 at 2:30 pm at the Blessed Sacrament Church in Rapid City, SD. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Yesterday’s Ballroom in the Hotel Alex Johnson.

A second Celebration of Life will be held on Aug. 10 at 4:00 p.m. at Lake Memorials, Swan Garden Room, Suite 111, in Las Vegas.
