Overtime and Omaha Productions Team Up to Create First-Ever Overtime Nationals High School Football Championship

Overtime and Omaha Productions announce the creation of the inaugural Overtime Nationals High School Football Championship, which will air on ESPN2 on Wed., Dec. 10, at 7:00 p.m. ET.

This championship will put two of the best high school football programs in the country on the same field to crown the first-ever National Champion. The inaugural game will feature Corner Canyon (No. 3 offense in the country based on Massey Ratings) and St. Frances Academy (No. 1 defense) battling it out at Under Armour Stadium in Baltimore, Md.

Overtime Nationals will be an annual showdown to crown a high school football champion in America, giving players, coaches, and fans a historic new stage. The game will showcase some of the nation’s top high school football talent, including standout recruits Helaman Casuga, Diesel Dart, Zion Elee, Jireh Edwards and celebrate the continued rise of high school football.

“When you think about football in America, every level has its championship, the Super Bowl, the College Football Playoff, except high school,” says Hunter Mandel, GM of Overtime Football. “We built Overtime Nationals to finally give high school athletes that same pinnacle moment.”

“Overtime is giving high school football a national stage like we’ve never seen before,” says Eric Kjar, Corner Canyon High School Head Football Coach. “It’s a huge opportunity for our athletes to compete in front of a nationwide audience and show what our program is all about. This platform raises the bar for everyone, and we’re excited to step into that spotlight and embrace the challenge.”

“This announcement is bigger than a game; It gives high school football a true championship environment,” adds Messay Hailemariam, St. Frances Academy Head Football Coach. “Our players are energized to make history by competing against the very best in the country and showing the toughness and discipline that defines our program.”

In addition to owning the title of ‘National Champion’, the winner of the game will also receive a $250,000 donation to enhance its athletic program.

Subway has been announced as the official presenting sponsor of Overtime Nationals, continuing its support of grassroots and high school sports across the country.
