The day begins with two talks sponsored by the North American Broadcasters Alliance (NABA): “Spectrum Losses and the Impact on Live Production” (10–11 a.m.) and “Practical Applications of the Media Exchange Layer” (11 a.m.–12 p.m.).

In the first session, top leaders from the North American Spectrum Alliance will discuss the future of live production in a spectrum-constrained environment. Presenters Brad Cheney (Fox Sports, VP, Field Operations and Engineering) and Henry Cohen (CP Communications, Senior RF Systems Design Engineer), along with NABA Director-General Rebecca Hanson, will provide an overview of the FCC’s proposed C-band auction rules, the potential industry impact, and a detailed look at production and broadcast RF systems, spectrum bands, and what’s at stake in the coming years.

The following workshop, “Practical Applications of the Media Exchange Layer: Explaining the ‘Why’ in addition to the ‘How,’” features John Mailhot (Imagine Communications, SVP, Product Management) and Francois Legrand (CBC/Radio-Canada, Senior Director, Innovation Hub, Governance and Engineering). They will explore the Media Exchange Layer initiative within Dynamic Media Facilities (DMF/MXL), offering insight into interoperable cloud technology and its specific benefits for live production workflows.

Next up, “Live Streaming from the Moon: From Sports to Space with NASA+” (1–2 p.m.) features NASA media leaders Lee Erickson (NASA+, SME/Streaming Media Lead) and Rebecca Sirmons (NASA+, General Manager / Head) who will share how cutting-edge video technologies are being used to stream space missions, inspire new audiences, and redefine live broadcasting from 250 miles above Earth.

The day concludes with “5G and Sports Production” (3–4 p.m.), a highlighted session featuring real-world case studies and lessons learned from 5G-enabled sports productions. Speakers include Brad Cheney (Fox Sports), Scott Beckett (AT&T Global Video Solutions, Director of Product Management), Dan Grainge (NEP Specialty Capture, President), and G. Jason Schnellbache (T-Mobile, Technology Innovation).
