ISE 2026: Cobalt Digital Returns with Comprehensive Lineup of IPMX-Ready Solutions
Story Highlights
Cobalt Digital, a designer and manufacturer of ST 2110 and SDI signal processing products, and a founding partner in the openGear initiative, is heading back to ISE with the message that IPMX is here to stay.
The company is backing up the statement with a lineup of IPMX solutions including the COBALT ARIA AUD-MON — the industry’s only IPMX-compliant audio monitor as well as other IPMX solutions such as the SAPPHIRE BBG-2110 mini converters, INDIGO gateways, PACIFIC encoders/decoders, TOPAZ processors, and UltraBlue MV-SW multiviewer platforms.
ISE visitors to Booth 4J900 can see demos from Cobalt’s extensive portfolio that have all been optimized for the interoperability, ease-of-use, and scalability needed in Pro AV. ISE will take place on Feb. 3-6 in Fira de Barcelona, Gran Via.
COBALT ARIA AUD-MON – The Industry’s only IPMX-Compliant Audio Monitor
Cobalt’s ARIA audio family will be represented by the COBALT ARIA AUD-MON, the only fully IPMX-compliant audio monitor on the market. Ideal for Pro AV environments migrating toward IP-based operations, AUD-MON features sound monitoring and 16 SDI or 64 MADI metering from a compact rack-mount form-factor. Sound is produced by an efficient Class-D amplifier with DSP and specially selected speaker components. The easy-to-use and customizable touch display front panel is designed for simple and intuitive operation and is available with eight individual volume controls for mixing or with a single volume control for simplicity. Control can also be achieved through a web interface.
The monitor is available with external redundant power supplies and supports a wide range of inputs including: 2xSDI up to 12G or MADI, 2 SFP for SDI over fiber, AES, balanced analog audio, and GPI for automation. Other very useful features include a live video thumbnail and SDI output for monitoring.
Other models from the ARIA line will be highlighted including the COBALT ARIA OG-AUD4-DANTE, a quad-channel unit with up to 12G DANTE/AES/MADI/Embed and De-Embed functions with Frame Sync capabilities. The card features two gigabit Ethernet ports, a 64×64 configuration, and a full audio router mixer.
COBALT UltraBlue MV-SW Multiviewer – Best of both, ST 2110 and IPMX
Cobalt’s UltraBlue MV-SW multiviewers, now with IPMX support, are ideal for AV systems transitioning to either ST 2110 or IPMX workflows. These multiviewers are available as both a turnkey solution with four HDMI heads, or as a software package that runs on customer-supplied dedicated hardware. UltraBlue can receive audio/video content over IP across a variety of protocols and formats with very flexible audio routing, bringing a multitude of options to suit every application.
Mosaic configurations are easily configured with arbitrary sizes and orientations available on multiple HDMI screens with graphic overlays, ancillary data, and tallies. PIPs can also be arbitrarily placed and rotated. These software-based multiviewers feature an intuitive web interface and are designed to grow with a customer’s needs by incorporating support for compressed and baseband (ST 2110) IP/SDI inputs and outputs.
COBALT SAPPHIRE ST 2110 Mini Converters – Space-saving IPMX capable converters
Cobalt Digital will feature multiple models in the SAPPHIRE mini converter family of IPMX-capable standalone mini-converters. Perfect for Pro AV applications that demand function and reliability in a small package, these SAPPHIRE units convert between IPMX compatible (and SMPTE ST 2110 compatible) signals and SDI/HDMI, with support for baseband video and JPEG-XS.
Available in a variety of configurations including single, dual, and quad channel, with some models capable of simultaneously transmitting and receiving, they display incoming IPMX content on HDMI monitors, including content originating from a WAN connection, or for converting from HDMI to compressed or baseband IPMX streams.
The SAPPHIRE BBG converters feature dual SFP cages with support for 10G and 25G Ethernet ports, audio sample rate conversion, and the receiving units can mix-and-match audio channels without time base synchronization with the video. The space-saving converters can be mounted directly behind the monitor, and are incredibly quiet, ideal for Pro-AV networks and corporate communications.
COBALT INDIGO – Gateways for Hybrid IP Infrastructures
Cobalt’s INDIGO gateway solutions which provide a powerful on and off ramp between ST 2110 and SDI now support IPMX. These versatile solutions are designed to bridge the gap between traditional SDI workflows and modern IP-based infrastructures by simplifying interop, routing, and format translations while preserving image quality and latency performance — critical for large venues, enterprise campuses, and production environments transitioning to IP.
Engineered for maximum efficiency, the compact OG-2110-BIDI4-GATEWAY allows up to 10 cards to be installed in a single 2RU openGear chassis for an impressive 80 total paths of conversion (40 in each direction). This space-saving design is ideal for any application where real estate is at a premium.
