SVG Summit: Sports-Production Leaders, Innovators Once Again Take the Main Stage

The 11th-annual SVG Summit, to be held at the New York Hilton on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 12-13, is already shaping up to be bigger and better than any SVG event ever. Headlining this year’s Summit will be two days of General Sessions featuring the sports-production industry’s top leaders and cutting-edge innovators.

Day One: Engineering Perspectives, the Move to IP, Multiplatform Needs, and HDR Production 
General Sessions kick off on Monday with a two-part session titled  “Engineering Perspectives on IP and the Changing Production Landscape,” with operations and technology leaders from BroaMan, CBS Sports, ESPN, EVS, F&F Productions, Fox Sports, Game Creek Video, and NEP Group.

Next up is “Working Lean While Meeting Multiplatform Needs” moderated by HBO VP, Sports Production, Jason Cohen and featuring speakers from AT&T Entertainment Group, Big Ten Network, MLB Network, Pac-12 Networks, and Turner Sports.

The end of Day 1 focuses squarely on HDR production with “Best Practices for HDR on Game Day” and “Making the Move to HDR,” featuring execs from Canon, Dolby Labs, Dome Productions, Hitachi Kokusai, Mobile TV Group, Spectrum Sports, Sony Electronics, and Technicolor.

Day Two on Tuesday tips off with “Sports Production Highlights From the Year That Was” featuring top operations and tech execs from CBS Sports, ESPN, Fox Sports, MLB Network, NBC Sports, and Turner Sports.

The Summit then transitions from operations/tech to the production side with “Producer Perspectives: Storytelling in the Digital Age,” featuring Turner Sports’ Craig Barry and CBS Sports’ Harold Bryant.

Next up is a look at the “State of the Remote Production Industry” by top execs from CTV Outside Broadcast, Dome Productions, Game Creek Video, Mobile TV Group, and NEP.

After lunch, the Summit gets social with a look at “How Social Video Will Change the Way You Create Content,” featuring the top social-media minds from NASCAR, NBA, NBC Sports Group, and the New York Giants. The digital theme continues with “Digital Leaders Perspectives: The Big Picture,” offering digital-media leaders from Facebook, Fox Sports, and NBC Sports Group.
