Ooyala Q3 Global Video Index: Mobile Is Now Well Over 50% of All Video Viewing

Ooyala has released its Q3 Global Video Index, which provides insights about where cord-cutters are headed, from their favorite screens (mobile is now well over 50% of all video viewing) to the rise of oldsters in their ranks (60% of baby boomers now watch online). This edition of the Video Index also has inside numbers on piracy, sports video, trends in Europe and much more. 

ooyalaAmong the reports findings: Nearly half of all Q3 smartphone viewing time was medium- and long-form content, up 23% from Q3 2015; The Netherlands and Belgium have the highest percentage of mobile plays, with 65% and 59%; and video from one pro sports club rose almost 100%, after a win — and 230% after a win against a historic rival.
