NextVR, NBA To Offer Free Preview of NBA Game in Virtual Reality

On Sunday, March 12, fans globally can experience a free preview of NextVR’s immersive live NBA game broadcast in virtual reality when the Los Angeles Lakers host the Philadelphia 76ers. Starting at 9:30 p.m. ET, the live VR broadcast will feature real-time integrated graphics, behind-the-scenes footage from the arena and VR-specific commentary.

Fans with a Daydream by Google or Samsung Gear VR headset and compatible phone can download the free NextVR app and access the NBA channel to experience Sunday’s free preview.

This free preview is part of a multi-year partnership between NextVR and the NBA to offer live regular-season games in virtual reality to fans globally, except in China. Following the free preview, fans can continue to experience live NBA games in virtual reality with an NBA LEAGUE PASS subscription, or a-la-carte with a single game offering for $6.99 USD per game.

Additionally, following each live broadcast, fans can experience virtual reality on demand highlights of the game as well as features such as ‘Dunks of the Month’ and ‘Plays of the Month.’
