MAC snaps up XOS for replay

XOS Technologies, a leading provider of advanced digital video, ticketing and online media solutions to professional and collegiate athletic organizations, today announced that the Mid-American Conference (MAC) has selected to implement the XOS Replay solution for in-game instant replay used by the conference football officials.

With the new NCAA rules in place, we knew we needed to upgrade our instant replay solution for the upcoming season, said Bob Gennarelli, MAC Deputy Commissioner. XOS Technologies already provides the MAC and our member schools with a number of other technology solutions, so we knew that we could trust them to deliver the best in instant replay.
XOS Replay includes two video monitors so that one official can review the play while another collects additional angles; resulting in a more informed decision. The solution will enable the MAC replay monitors to review and create bookmarks for each play without disrupting the game. The replay officials can then decide which plays to review and can cue up several angles in advance to expedite the process once it begins. In addition, the solution will provide the MAC with real-time, slow-motion and reverse viewing options.

Earlier this year, the Canadian Football League and the Sun Belt Conference also enlisted the XOS Instant Replay solution. Other XOS Replay partners include football for the PAC-10 and Big 12 conferences, the Western Collegiate Hockey Association and the Central Collegiate Hockey Association.
