Story Highlights
Broadcast International (“BI”) (OTCBB: BCST) today announced its partner, SportsCast Network (SCN), has recently signed a three-year agreement with the Big Sky Conference to stream video NCAA Division I members’ football, volleyball, and men’s and women’s basketball on the Internet. Beginning in the fall of 2006, SCN will broadcast more than 300 events each year to Big Sky fans utilizing BI’s CodecSys technology to provide high quality video.
“We are thrilled to have SportsCast Network on board with us as we enter the exciting world of video streaming,” said Big Sky Conference Commissioner Doug Fullerton. “This is just the beginning of what we hope will be great media endeavors that will benefit our fans and alumni around the world. This will be unlike anything else currently available to fans of collegiate athletics. SportsCast Network possesses some of the best technology available. Plus, our nine athletic departments will all benefit from the agreement; when you buy a subscription to a particular sport, or all the sports, revenues will go back to your favorite school.”
“We look forward to providing the Big Sky Conference fans an unparalleled media experience,” said Michael Begley, SCN’s founder and CEO. “Our technology will enable the Big Sky to deliver live feeds to any device, ranging from television to PCs to hand-held devices, such as PDAs and cellular phones via Internet Protocol. Additionally, we will present followers of Big Sky Athletics with an interactive experience that will be second to none with comprehensive, real time statistical updates for all facets of every sport and unique fun features, like live chat.”
