Landro coaching software finds new believers

Landro, a digital play analyzer digital tool used to study game videos, will be used this season as a technical aid by the California University of Pennsylvania women’s basketball team.

Rob Firment, Landro director of operations, says the Landro system has been in use by colleges and high schools for seven seasons. The system connects directly to the camera to capture games and each play is cataloged using the color-coded keyboard. From there coaches call them up and jump from play to play without fast-forwarding or rewinding.

Landro’s basketball analyzer breaks down plays such as fast breaks, rebounds, and fouls. Clips are also catalogued so hours of footage can be compressed into 30 minutes. Even players can be marked at the press of a button.

“Landro has access to over 150,000 games,” says Firment. “One coach was able to give out 12 scholarships in an afternoon there is no way he could have done that without Landro.”
