April 28 Finds NASCAR Grand National West Series at Altamont Motorsports Park

This coming Saturday,
April 28, the NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series, now in its 54th
season, will be racing at Altamont Motorsports Park (AMP), located at 17001,
Midway Road, between Tracy and Livermore, California. The NASCAR division that
has launched driving careers for Kevin Harvick, Brendan Gaughan, Lance Hooper,
Rick Carelli, David Gilliland and others, Saturday’s Grand National event will
see several Northern California drivers among the field of competitors in the
200-lap main event on the

“Fastest -mile in the West.”

Modesto
‘s Mike David, driving the No. 2
Bennett Lane Winery car, is second in points standings coming to

Altamont
Motorsports
Park.
Mike was mentioned in a March 26 NASCAR press release, along with Jim
Inglebright of Fairfield, who drives the No. 1 Jelly Belly car, as one of “Five
to Watch” for 2007.
Bakersfield’s Mike Duncan
(No. 9) and
Atascadero’s David Mayhew (No. 26)
are also in the top 10 standings. Other Northern California drivers racing in
the NASCAR Grand National West Series include Jack Sellers of Sacramento (No.
15), Stan Silva, Jr. of Castroville (No. 65), and Thomas Martin of

Auburn (No. 75).

All-American Series Western Late Model and American Limited Stock Car
competitors will also compete on April 28, and a motorcycle stunt exhibition
will add to the entertainment. Grandstands open at Noon, opening ceremonies are
scheduled for 4:30, and the Grand National 200 will start promptly at 7:00 p.m.
