TSN is Off and Running with Coverage of the Queen’s Plate

Considered
the crown jewel of Canadian horse racing, the Queen’s Plate takes place this
Sunday (June 24) and TSN will provide exclusive live Canadian coverage at 4
p.m. ET from Woodbine Racetrack in

Toronto.

This marks
the second consecutive year TSN has televised the popular horse racing event.

Jeff Bratt
of Woodbine Entertainment Group will host TSN’s coverage alongside veteran
racing analyst Jim Bannon. The 1-hour broadcast also features additional
analysis from Hall-of-Fame jockey and 4-time Queen’s Plate winner Sandy Hawley,
jockey Jim McAleney, who is currently recovering from a broken femur and was
the third leading jockey at Woodbine last year, and thoroughbred trainer Ren e
Kierans.

With $1
million (Cdn) up for grabs, the Queen’s Plate is the most prestigious
thoroughbred race in

Canada.
This year marks the 148th running of the Queen’s Plate, making it
North America’s oldest annual stakes event. The 1
-mile ‘Gallop for the
Guineas’
is the first jewel in

Canada’s
Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing.
