U.S. Futsal Federation Kicks 22nd National Championship comes to Anaheim

The United
States Futsal Federation (USFF) will hold its 22nd National Championship in

Anaheim on July 12th
through July 15th. Over 130 teams will be participating in action-packed
competition at The Anaheim Convention Center. Play begins at noon on Thursday,
July 12th and will conclude with the Men’s final beginning at 2:00 pm on
Sunday, July 15th. Tickets are available at the event.

Over
100,000 athletes of all ages are now playing Futsal in the

United States,
and 2007 participation was up 30 percent growth versus a year ago.

“Futsal
continues to gain popularity,” said Alex Para, president and CEO of the USFF. “There
are now Futsal associations in 44 states, and the National Championships are
the showcase for the pre-eminent indoor soccer sport in the U.S. Futsal is the
way the rest of world plays indoor soccer, and we encourage everyone to come
out and see the competition as we continue our expansion of the sport
throughout the country.”

“This is
an especially exciting month, as Futsal is being played next week for the first
time as part of the Pan American Games, which are being held in Rio de Janeiro,
Brazil,” added Para.
