Tektronix Clears Bar For NBC Olympics

Tektronix has been selected to provide audio and video equipment to NBC for the network’s coverage of the 2008 Olympic Games from Beijing.

NBC has purchased WFM7120 waveform monitors and WVR7120 rasterizers to support the games and also will be using TG700 signal generators for test signal generation. The equipment will be used to monitor and test digital video and audio HD content to ensure quality in production, post-production, transmission and distribution for the games.

“We demand both high quality and high reliability for the transmission of NBC’s Olympic broadcasts,” says Dave Mazza, senior vice president, Engineering, NBC Olympics. “Tektronix provides easy-to-use monitoring solutions that achieve and maintain our desired content quality. As a leader in the video test and measurement field, we know we can trust Tektronix equipment for a broadcast as critical as the Olympic Games.”
