Ross Video Releases SoftMetal v4.0 Software

Ross Video
is now shipping SoftMetal version 4.0 software. SoftMetal version 4.0 software was
launched at IBC 2008.
“Ross has
been diligently working to advance our SoftMetal video server software,” said
Jeff Moore, executive vice president, sales and marketing. “Now that we are
shipping, I am excited for our customers to experience first hand the new
features SoftMetal version 4.0 has to offer.”
SoftMetal is a line of multi-definition video servers designed for live production
and master control applications. SoftMetal v4.0 features includes MXF native record
and playback support for HD and SD clips, QuickTime native SD playout, close
captioning support, embedded audio support, 16 Channels per video input and
output, stereoscopic 3D record and playback and numerous other enhancements.
