Vitec Group Names Bird CEO

Vitec Group will head to NAB with more than just new products. The company’s new CEO, Stephen Bird, will begin his official duties on April 14.

Bird has been divisional managing director of Weir Oil & Gas, part of Weir Plc, since 2005. He has a broad range of UK and International experience having previously worked at Danaher, Black & Decker, Unipart Group, Hepworth PLC, and Technicolour Group and he is currently a non-executive director of UMECO Plc.

Vitec says that interim Chief Executive Alastair Hewgill has agreed to remain with the group for an appropriate hand-over period in order to allow an orderly transition.
