Audio-Technica To Hold Broadcast-Audio Seminar Events at NAB

By Dan Daley

Audio-Technica is holding a series of seminar events during the 2009 NAB Show at the company’s booth, N2121.

At 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Monday April 20, Tuesday April 21, and Wednesday April 22, broadcast-audio veteran Dennis Baxter will present seminars on surround mixing and microphone placement for sports broadcasting. Baxter is a multiple Emmy winner and the sound designer for the 2004, 2006, 2008, and upcoming 2010 Olympic Games, as well as the author of A Practical Guide to Television Sound Engineering.

At 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on all three days, Dr. Fred Ginsburg, specialist in production sound recording for motion pictures and video, will present seminars on the placement and use of lavalier microphones. Ginsburg is a distinguished member of the Cinema Audio Society. His background includes nearly two decades as a sound mixer on feature films, episodic TV, and commercials, as well as for corporate and government applications. An extensively published author, he currently serves on the faculty at California State University Northridge.

“We’re really happy to have gotten both Dennis and Fred to share their expertise with everyone,” says VP of Marketing Greg Pinto. ”Both of their topics are timely, and they really know their stuff. We’re expecting a big turnout.”
