SVG Third-Annual Asset Management Event To Be Hosted By MLB Network

SVG is pleased to announce that MLB Network will host the Third Annual SVG Sports Asset Management Forum at its facility on July 22, 2009 in Secaucus, NJ.

The one day event will feature an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the MLB Network headquarters in the morning and in-depth workshops focused on the most important issues facing sports leagues, teams, and networks as they look to manage digital assets efficiently and cost effectively. The afternoon sessions and a lunch will be held at the nearby Crowne Plaza Hotel.

“Our asset management event has become one of the highlights on our schedule as it affords us a chance to bring SVG members and sponsors behind the scenes at a working facility,” says Ken Kerschbaumer, SVG Editorial Director. “The MLB Network has graciously agreed to open their doors and give attendees of the event a better understanding of workflows and production environments.”

The afternoon event will begin with an over view from vendors of an asset management environment ripe for new workflows and new approaches to asset acquisition, ingest, and distribution. SVG sponsors discuss where asset management technologies are heading, how to cost effectively build out an asset management system in tough economic times, and their latest advances.

The remainder of the day will include workshop sessions focused on the following topics:

Born Digital: Building a Tapeless Archive
Server and Storage Technology Overview
Born Digital: The Need for Speed
Backup for the Backup: Disaster Recovery
Closing Bell: Monetizing Your Assets
