YES Network Lands U.S. Rights To Televise Arsenal Matches on Tape Delay
The YES Network and MP & Silva, the international rights holder for the Arsenal Football Club have reached a multi-year agreement enabling YES to televise Arsenal’s English Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League games in HD on tape delay. As part of the deal, YES will also televise Arsenal World and Arsenal 360, magazine shows that focus on the team. In addition, YES will air selected classic Arsenal games.
YES will televise Arsenal games typically the day after they have been played. The game telecasts will be packaged with the latest Arsenal World and Arsenal 360 programs to create an extended window of Arsenal coverage. The Arsenal games and magazine shows will not only air on YES within the network’s home team footprint (throughout New York State and Connecticut, northern and central New Jersey and northeast Pennsylvania), but also on YES National, the network’s national feed, which is available throughout the country.
The first Arsenal match televised by YES will be last Sunday’s Chelsea-Arsenal match; it will premiere on YES on Friday at 8:30 pm ET. The telecast will be preceded at 8 pm ET by Arsenal 360 and followed at 10:30 pm ET by Arsenal World.
“This Arsenal package provides additional depth to our already diverse, Emmy Award-winning lineup,” says John Filippelli, president, production and programming, YES Network. “It not only makes our programming more attractive to those living in our traditional regional viewing area, but it also enhances the value of our YES National feed available throughout the country. Those tuning in to our YES National feed will benefit from these Arsenal programs airing in HD throughout our schedule, including when our Yankees and Nets game telecasts are blacked out.”
