Switzerland’s RSI Extends Deployment of Chyron HyperX3 On-Air Graphics Systems

Chyron today announced that RSI, Switzerland’s Italian-language public broadcaster, is upgrading and expanding its installation of HyperX on-air graphics systems. RSI introduced Chyron’s HyperX to its operations in 2007 for elections coverage and today uses ten HyperX2 and HyperX3 systems across its broadcast studio, OB vans, and main playout department. The current RSI upgrade will result in a total of 17 installed HyperX3 systems, with future plans including integration into the broadcaster’s file-based news and sports production workflows.

Ideal for live sports channels, news stations, and outside broadcasts, the extremely fast, powerful, and easy-to-use HyperX3 system features seamless creation-to-playout capability, real-time 2D/3D animation, built-in stereoscopic-ready 3D, and a host of hardware and software features. The turnkey on-air graphics system from Chyron is scalable to two independent channels and incorporates the award-winning Lyric PRO-8 graphics creation and playback software. With its new “scriptless” conditional intelligent transitions, Lyric PRO-8 improves the on-air look with ease and accuracy.

“Chyron’s HyperX3 offers powerful tools for graphics and animation, and it’s both easy to operate and integrate into today’s broadcast operations,” said Angelo Bonafiglia, sales manager at Avision SA, which supplied the Chyron systems to RSI. “This unique combination makes the HyperX3 an ideal solution for integration across RSI’s broadcast facilities. By standardizing on the system, RSI will enjoy consistency in performance, file structure, and functionality in bringing top-quality graphics to air.”
